• SUB-VERSION: LIVE AND RESIST IN MINOR MODE •
A composition by Dénètem Touam Bona
The "wisdom of lianas" invites to a practice of alliance between "minor" forms of life. Minor, because they are minimized or even criminalized, but also because (like marronnage) pertaining to an art of escape, dodging, camouflage: a game of hide-and-seek, with multiple variables, which subverts roles and places assigned, thus sketching alternative futures. The "sub-version" mobilizes memory only to make it a fabulatory power.

Born in Paris, of a Central African father and a French mother, Dénètem Touam Bona is one of the Afropean authors, with a border identity, who attempts to build bridges between worlds that twist, even today, the "color line". Regular collaborator of the Institut du Tout-Monde (center dedicated to the work of Édouard Glissant), he is the author of three philosophical and literary essays: Fugitif, où cours-tu? [Fugitive, where are you running to?], Cosmopoéticas do Refúgio [Cosmopoetics of Refuge], Sagesse des lianes. Cosmopoétique du refuge I [Wisdom of the lianas. Cosmopoetics of Refuge I]. In his works and projects, Dénètem Touam Bona aims to make "marronnage" (enslaveds' art of escaping and dodging) a philosophical object in its own right, an utopian experience from which to think the contemporary world. In recent years, he has regularly collaborated on creative projects, mainly as a playwright but also in the dance field, besides curating a group exhibition at the Centre Internationale d'Art et du Paysage de Vassivière, entitled "The wisdom of lianas" (2021-2022), in which he aims to put in place a "cosmopoetic refuge".
Sebastian Wiedemann is a Colombian filmmaker-researcher and philosopher, or as he likes to say a practitioner of cinematic modes of experience. He holds a PhD in Art Practice & Learning and teaches at the Pontifical Bolivarian University (Colombia). His works investigate liminal intersections animated through experimental cinema and philosophy, aware of a possibility for thought-cinema as living poetic ecology, as a possible surface for the affirmation of a Cosmopolitics of Image. His films have screened in venues around the world and have received retrospective shows in Brazil, Colombia, Spain, and Ireland. He is also editor and curator of the online platform Hambre | espacio de cine experimental which focuses on critical experiments seeking dialogue with new tendencies in Latin American avant-garde cinema and where he has edited the books La Radicalidad de la Imagen. Des-bordando latitudes latinoamericanas. Sobre algunos modos del cine experimental (2016) and Pensamientos migrantes: Intersecciones cinematográficas (2020).
